Write a letter.

One of the most meaningful things we received after losing our home was a handwritten note from someone who had survived a wildfire years earlier. It reminded us that life would not always feel the way it did in that moment and that someone who understood was thinking of us.

That is why letters are at the heart of Project Spark. Each gift card we send is paired with a message from someone who has lived through wildfire or stood beside an affected family or community.

Things to note.

People who have lived through wildfire and those who have stood beside them are welcome. You do not have to have lost a home to write a letter. Messages from people who have experienced wildfire carry a special kind of understanding. So do words from those who have supported loved ones, students, neighbors, or an entire community through loss and recovery.

Your words matter. Your letter can be brief. A few thoughtful words can offer comfort, connection, and the reminder that someone is thinking of them. There is no perfect thing to say. Write what feels sincere and true.

Upload or type your letter. Upload a photo or scan of a handwritten note, or type your message into the form below. We will handwrite typed submissions before they are shared.
